Understanding Profitability Within Franchising
Franchising offers an approach to business ownership that enables you to run your own business using a proven business model and brand. Despite having all of the tools to be successful readily available to you, franchising isn't a get rich quick scheme. There are no guarantees - ever - in business ownership, and your success will be down to your own efforts.
That said, there are many franchises out there that offer great potential returns.
Simply put, profit is what your business makes after turnover minus overheads. You will be able to see a prediction on what you're likely to achieve when you speak to the franchisor. They will provide you with a report of where business income comes from, and where overheads are. Such as staff wages where appliable, vehicle running costs, ongoing equipment and supplies.
When turnover minus overheads are calculated, you can understand how profitable a type of franchise can be.
In our franchise directory, you can explore the most profitable types of franchises.
What Are The Most Profitable Business Opportunities?
The most profitable franchises for sale are those that have low overheads against turnover. In addition to this, the most profitable business ideas can be scaled. Ones that allow you to take on more staff and scale the workload (and profits). Also ones that are owner operated businesses, where the franchisee can work their own hours, maximising their turnover in line with their ambitions.
Some franchisors will advertise their franchises as offering "unlimited earning potential".
Understanding Unlimited Earning Potential
Unlimited earnings quite simply means your earnings scale with your input. The more you work, the more you earn. Even as an owner operated business, serving just a small portion of your franchise territory on a repeat basis - such as window or oven cleaning - can net you some good turnover.
Lets look at oven cleaning. Just cleaning 2 households a day, 5 days a week, at £80 avg per clean, that's £800 a week. That's just 40 households a month, in what will likely be a 5,000+ franchise territory. Assuming you'll repeat at least half of these cleans 3 or 6 months later for a continued shine, that leaves a significant amount of houses yet to clean. The same applies with window cleaning, gardening, pretty much any owner operated B2C franchise. And there are other examples, for example mobile coffee vans. You can't be in two places at once. Operate more staff and more coffee vans, you're multiplying your business profits.
Unlimited earnings can be achieved, once you have a business up and running, you'll soon realise the sky is the limit.
