Be Your Own Boss with Franchises Under £90K
If you’ve got at least £40,000 of your own cash and are looking to get into business ownership, franchising is a great way to go about it. With many banks and lenders taking favourably to franchising, many of which are members of the British Franchise Association, you could get up to 70% franchise finance. This means that for a franchise of £90,000, you may only need £40,000 of your own cash!
Becoming a business owner is a dream for many, but thanks to the supportive framework that is franchising, the dream is becoming a reality for more and more people.
What is a Franchise?
Franchising refers to a method of business expansion, and a franchise (franchises) refers to the units operating under the franchised business model. A franchise is an individual unit operating under the franchised brand’s network, owned by a franchisee. The franchisor owns the trademarks, the brand and the system, whilst individual franchisees own their own businesses, licensed to trade under the franchisor’s brand. Many franchises are available for less than £30,000, whilst some are high end franchises. However a vast majority of opportunities will be available for less than £90,000.
Why invest in a Franchise?
When considering business ownership, you’ve generally got three options to choose from. The first, one which most people default to, is starting up a business from scratch. This comes with a lot of risks, not to mention the fact that many can easily underestimate the amount of time and money that needs to be invested. Secondly, buying a business that’s already trading means cashflow from day one, but this can be expensive – easily exceeding £90,000.
Then you’ve got franchising. The business model has been laid out and has been proven successful, thanks to countless already-trading franchisees. Franchising means you’ll be spending your money not on a risky startup venture – but a proven brand, established business model plus comprehensive training and support. Not to mention launch marketing and all necessary equipment. For a new business, a website could easily take up to several years to start generating decent results and clients, but you jump starting to this even with a franchise, because you’ll get either a subdomain or prominent placement on the franchisor’s website which already has authority.
Are Franchises Under £90,000 Profitable?
The profitability of a business greatly depends on the franchisee. How much time and effort they wish to apply, and how much working capital they set aside to maximise the business’s potential. That said, many franchises around the £50,000 - £90,000 mark are lucrative and therefore offer the potential to be highly profitable. Generally fast food, high end management and office based white collar franchises reside around this figure – many of which either deal with great volumes of clients, or in the B2B sector.
Any franchise business can be profitable, provided the franchisee follows the operations manual and devotes the necessary resources to see the business to success.
